Our “Green” Practices

Here at the Blowing Rock Inn we are doing the following to protect the natural resources of the earth:

• We have a recycle program in effect which includes having recycling bins in each of our Inn Rooms and Villas
• We have put signs in all our bathrooms asking guest to consider using towels more than once to help lower the amount of laundry for the property which in turn lowers our use of water and detergent
• We have installed 3 - 80 gallon rain barrels which we use to water all of our landscaping
• We now replace all burnt out light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs to be more energy efficient
• All of our showers use water saving shower heads that still maintain good water pressure
• We no longer have traditional hot water tanks but have replaced them with Rinnai continuous flow water heaters
